Belong: Head of Operations

Belong is searching for an experienced and values-led Head of Operations to shape, support, and strengthen operational delivery across our villages and services. This is a senior leadership role with substantial influence, where you’ll collaborate with the Executive Team, General Managers, and operational leaders. Together, we ensure safe, commercially strong, well-led services focused on delivering outstanding experiences for customers, families, and colleagues.

At Belong, we operate differently. Our village model centres on household living, relationship-centred care, and vibrant communities where individuals can live well through personal, warm, and human support.

As Head of Operations, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring this model is delivered consistently, sustainably, and with the right balance of quality, compliance, commercial focus, and people leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll provide operational leadership across a portfolio of services, supporting General Managers and senior teams to achieve strong performance, high-quality care, and positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and support operational performance across Belong’s villages and services
  • Collaborate closely with General Managers to refine quality, compliance, occupancy, workforce planning, and financial performance
  • Provide visible, strategic leadership, coaching, and challenge to help teams reach their full potential
  • Guide teams through CQC requirements, quality audits, and improvement plans
  • Proactively identify operational risks and implement collaborative strategies to mitigate them
  • Drive consistency across the organisation while respecting the unique characteristics of each village
  • Utilise data, insights, and operational intelligence to inform decisions
  • Foster strong working relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners, commissioners, and local communities
  • Contribute to key strategic projects and organisational development initiatives

About You

We’re looking for a senior operational leader with a deep understanding of health, social care, housing, or hospitality environments in a people-focused sector.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong senior leadership experience, commercial acumen, and the ability to build rapid, meaningful relationships with operational teams
  • Demonstrated success in service improvement, ideally in roles demanding multi-location leadership
  • A robust grasp of budgeting, performance management, and operational planning
  • Experience driving CQC compliance, safeguarding, quality audits, and operational improvement
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, particularly with Executive Team members, General Managers, and frontline leaders
  • The ability to work regularly ** across Belong villages**
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Preference would be given to candidates with Head of Operations or Regional leadership experience, especially within adult social care, older adults services, retirement living, housing with care, or regulated care settings
