Role Description
The Head of Operations Automotive will lead end-to-end operational performance for automotive logistics and fulfilment activities in an on-site role based in Birmingham. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and transport operations, ensuring service excellence, safety, and cost efficiency across automotive accounts.

Responsibilities:

- Managing and developing operational teams
- Setting and tracking KPIs
- Optimizing processes
- Implementing continuous improvement initiatives aligned with customer and business objectives
- Collaborating closely with commercial, finance, and customer success teams to support contract performance, capacity planning, and new business onboarding
- Stakeholder management with key automotive clients
- Preparing operational reports
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience motivating and developing diverse operational teams
- Proven expertise in logistics, supply chain, or 3PL operations, ideally within automotive or industrial sectors
- Demonstrated ability in operational planning, KPI management, and performance improvement
- Experience in warehouse and transport management, including capacity planning and resource optimization
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data-driven decision-making and reporting
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills with internal and external partners
- Track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
- Comfort working on-site in a fast-paced environment, with strong focus on health, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
- Previous senior operations leadership experience (e.g., Operations Manager, Head of Operations, General Manager) within logistics or automotive is highly desirable
