Head of Operations
Head of Operations
Permanent, Full-time
Location: South Essex Role: Hybrid Working (2 days per week from office)
Salary: £50,000–£55,000 + Benefits
Our client is a respected UK professional membership body and learned society at an exciting point in its evolution. They are now seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking Head of Operations to join the Senior Management Team and help shape the next chapter of the organisation.
Your role will involve providing operational leadership across:
- Membership services
- Governance
- Conferences and events
- Publications
- Business operations
You will ensure teams have:
- The right structure
- Necessary support
- Effective systems to thrive

This is a broad leadership role. Success will depend on your ability to:

Key Priorities:
- Deliver a major CRM implementation
- Support governance modernisation
- Drive continuous improvement
- Identify new opportunities to enhance member value and develop sustainable income streams
- Oversee operational compliance, including data protection
- Work closely with outsourced service providers
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities of the professional membership, learned society, charity, or not-for-profit sector
- Experience leading operational teams
- Background in managing organisational change
- Ability to support colleagues through transformation with a positive, pragmatic, and collaborative approach

Role Details:
- Hybrid role based in South Essex
- Expectation: 2 days per week in the office
