About Us

At GRS, we do things differently.

We're a pioneering team, shaping the future of sustainable growth in the construction materials supply chain. We bring solutions that others can't see. Working here means being trusted to take action, being given the freedom to make decisions and being supported by a dynamic, experienced team, which values relationships and integrity. We do things the right way - even when it's tough - and we invest in people who strive to create real opportunities. You'll be joining a team that values honesty, bold ideas, and making a difference together.

The Role

This is a senior leadership role with accountability for how our operational functions perform day to day. You'll ensure activity across every site runs within clear governance - aligned to agreed RACI ownership and Delegation of Authority frameworks - while driving the performance, safety and customer service standards that underpin our growth. You'll shape the operating structure, manage capacity against short- and medium-term business goals, and make sure decisions get taken at the right level, by the right people, for the right reasons.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

This is an important role within GRS Group, with primary responsibility to:

What You'll Do

  • Own operational delivery across all functions, keeping activity aligned to RACI and Delegation of Authority frameworks, and manage the operational budget against revenue and seasonality.
  • Champion a safety-first culture across every site, with consistent KPIs and a clear improvement plan for each location.
  • Act as senior guardian of the Delegation of Authority framework, approving or escalating decisions on procurement, stock, spend and process change that fall outside agreed limits.
  • Own SOP quality and governance, ensuring processes are documented, followed, audited and kept current.
  • Drive the effectiveness of operational systems - ERP, scheduling, reporting - removing informal workarounds and strengthening data-led accountability.
  • Ensure Central Logistics reliably supplies drivers and logistics resource to all bagging plants, escalating any shortfall that threatens site output or dispatch.
  • Build strong links with Sales, Commercial, Supply Chain and Finance, providing operational sign-off on decisions that affect service, cost or risk.
  • Lead and develop the operational team, embedding clear ownership, confident decision-making, and escalation without blame.
  • Contribute to network development, including new site implementation, and manage the lifecycle of capital and machinery.
  • Own operational risk management and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, health and safety, and governance standards, including HR and H&S duties.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
