Sovereign Wealth Midlands
Sovereign Wealth Midlands is a private client wealth management practice working with high net worth founders, entrepreneurs, and senior executives across the UK and internationally. We are small by design, selective about who we work with, and uncompromising on the standard of service we deliver.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to be the operational anchor of the business, someone who thinks commercially, leads with confidence, and takes genuine ownership of outcomes.
This is a senior, hands-on role in a boutique environment. You will be the most senior person in the office day to day, working closely with the MD and a small team, and making decisions independently without needing to be directed. If you thrive in a high-trust, high-accountability environment where your work is visible and directly linked to results, this could be the right move.
What You Will Own
- Managing a small in-office team of 4, setting clear standards, building independence, and holding people to what is expected
- Being the first point of call before anything reaches the MD, filtering what genuinely needs to get to him
- Keeping the live client pipeline moving, spotting anything stalling, and driving it forward before it becomes a problem
- Owning the MD's diary and weekly schedule so he walks into every week fully prepared
- Holding white glove client service standards across every touchpoint, turnaround times, communication quality, and proactive follow-up
- Building, documenting, and maintaining the SOPs and processes that underpin a scaling boutique practice
- Pulling together the weekly business scorecard and giving leadership clear visibility
- Acting as AO for compliance and administrative oversight

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
