This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Operations based in United Kingdom.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an operations expert who will shape and scale the operational foundation of a global, fully remote financial services organization.
The role will oversee critical operational functions, ensuring efficiency, resilience, compliance, and exceptional service delivery.
You will lead multidisciplinary teams across areas such as payments, reconciliations, business operations, and digital asset settlement.
The position requires a strategic thinker who can combine operational excellence, automation, risk management, and people leadership.
You will play a key role in building scalable processes, improving performance, and supporting long-term business growth.
Working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment, you will help redefine how modern financial operations are built and managed.
Accountabilities:
The Head of Operations will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring that processes, teams, and systems are designed to support sustainable growth while maintaining strong governance and regulatory standards.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive operations strategy aligned with business objectives, focusing on scalability, efficiency, quality, and compliance.
- Lead and oversee core operational areas, including payments, treasury operations, reconciliations, card operations, back-office processes, and business operations.
- Own operational performance, establishing clear metrics, controls, and improvement initiatives to maintain high service standards.
- Drive process optimization, automation, and operational transformation through structured methodologies, technology, data, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Create and implement standardized operating procedures to improve consistency, efficiency, and operational visibility.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations organization by fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with compliance, risk, and financial crime teams to ensure operational activities meet regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Establish operational risk management frameworks, including monitoring, reporting, controls, and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders across technology, data, people, and client-facing teams to ensure seamless business alignment.
- Oversee end-to-end digital asset settlement operations, including reconciliation, wallet management, custody controls, and crypto-fiat operational processes.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate is an experienced operations leader with a strong background in regulated financial services environments and a proven ability to scale complex operational functions.
- 10+ years of progressive experience leading operations within banking, fintech, financial services, or wealth management environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing and scaling multiple operational functions, including payments, treasury, settlements, and business operations.
- Strong expertise in process improvement, operational transformation, automation, and building scalable workflows.
- Solid understanding of financial regulations, compliance requirements, AML frameworks, and financial crime prevention practices.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing high-performing operational organizations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable operational plans.
- Experience working with cryptocurrency, blockchain, or digital asset operations is highly valuable.
- Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, global environment with strong autonomy and collaboration skills.
