Our mission is to bridge the $2.5 trillion global SME trade finance gap by connecting exporters, importers, banks, institutional lenders, and alternative capital providers through a secure, compliance-first platform.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Head of Origination to lead business development and transaction origination across our global ecosystem. This role is responsible for sourcing and onboarding qualified SMEs seeking trade finance while simultaneously building relationships with banks, trade finance funds, institutional investors, family offices, alternative lenders, and other liquidity providers.
The ideal candidate has a strong network in international trade and trade finance and a proven ability to originate high-quality financing opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and onboard SME exporters, importers, manufacturers, distributors, and commodity traders requiring trade finance.
- Build strategic relationships with banks, trade finance funds, institutional investors, family offices, export credit agencies, and alternative lenders.
- Develop a strong pipeline of trade finance opportunities across key global markets.
- Identify financing requirements and structure suitable financing solutions in collaboration with internal teams.
- Negotiate and manage strategic partnerships with industry associations, chambers of commerce, logistics providers, and trade organizations.
- Represent SRC Ecosystem at conferences, industry events, and client meetings.
- Work closely with Compliance, Risk, Credit, and Operations teams to ensure efficient onboarding and transaction execution.
- Maintain a robust origination pipeline and consistently achieve business development targets.
- Provide market intelligence on trade finance trends, customer needs, and competitive developments.
- Contribute to the expansion of SRC Ecosystem's global partner network.

Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in trade finance, corporate banking, supply chain finance, structured trade finance, commodity finance, or financial institutions.
- Existing network of SMEs, banks, institutional lenders, trade finance funds, or corporate clients.
- Strong understanding of international trade, letters of credit, guarantees, receivables finance, invoice finance, warehouse finance, and supply chain finance.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-growing global startup.
- Strong commercial mindset with a track record of originating new business.
- Experience working across multiple international markets is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fintech, digital trade platforms, or alternative lending.
- Understanding of AI, blockchain, digital trade documentation, tokenization, or digital assets is an advantage.
- Existing relationships with trade finance institutions and funding partners.
- Experience working with SMEs across emerging and developed markets.
Success Metrics
- Number and quality of SMEs onboarded.
- Number of lenders and liquidity providers onboarded.
- Total originated trade finance opportunities.
- Transaction volume facilitated through SRC Ecosystem.
- Revenue generated from originated transactions.
- Strategic partnerships established.
