As part of this ambition, West Bromwich Albion is looking to appoint a Head of Partnerships to lead its commercial partnership’s function. Reporting to the Chief Business Officer, this role will play a central part in shaping the club’s commercial future, driving revenue growth, and developing a modern, high-performing partnerships operation.

The Impact You'll Make:

West Bromwich Albion is looking for a Head of Partnerships to lead and develop the club’s partnership sales and activation functions.

This is a senior commercial leadership role with responsibility for driving new business, growing existing partnerships, and helping drive forward the clubs commercial operation. You will lead the development of a modern partnerships function, working closely with senior leadership to identify new opportunities, strengthen the club’s commercial proposition, and support long-term revenue growth.

You will have the opportunity to influence how the club evolves its partnership offering across local, national and international markets, while leading a team and ensuring partners receive exceptional value and service. Balancing strategic direction with hands-on delivery, you will play a key role in both winning and retaining partnerships that support the club’s ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the club’s partnership sales and activation functions, driving revenue growth and commercial performance
  • Develop and execute the club’s partnerships strategy that support long-term commercial objectives
  • Identify, prospect and secure new commercial partnerships across a range of sectors
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities through relationship development and strategic networking
  • Lead negotiations and manage senior stakeholder relationships with prospective and existing partners
  • Oversee the delivery and activation of partnerships, ensuring a high-quality experience and measurable value for partners
  • Lead partnership renewals and identify opportunities to grow existing relationships
  • Lead, develop and mentor a growing partnerships team, creating a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Work closely with colleagues across marketing, communications, media, operations and finance to maximise commercial opportunities
  • Support the continued development of sales processes, reporting and commercial best practice

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in partnership sales, sponsorship, commercial development or a comparable rights-holder environment
  • Strong track record of securing new business and driving commercial revenue growth
  • Experience managing senior stakeholder relationships and leading complex negotiations
  • Strong understanding of sponsorship strategy, partnership structures and commercial rights
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in delivery
  • Experience leading, mentoring or developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
  • Commercially astute, proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience using customer relationship management systems and sales reporting tools is beneficial
  • Passion for sport and understanding of the commercial sports landscape is advantageous
