About This Role
Fresha allows consumers to discover, book, and pay for beauty and wellness appointments with local businesses via its marketplace, while beauty and wellness businesses use an all-in-one platform to manage their entire operations, including business software and financial technology solutions.
The consumer marketplace unlocks revenue potential for partner businesses by leveraging online bookings, automated marketing, and mobile apps with advanced integrations, including Instagram, Facebook, and Google.
Reporting directly to the Chief Payments Officer, the Head of Payments Operations will lead the operational implementation of Fresha’s global payments strategy.
This role sits at the intersection of Payments, Commercial, Product, Finance, and Operations, serving as the operational engine behind the payments organisation and ensuring strategic priorities are translated into scalable execution and measurable outcomes.
You’ll spearhead high-impact initiatives in payment acceptance, terminals, pricing, optimisation, and merchant adoption, delivering rapid solutions in dynamic environments. While designed as an autonomous individual contributor, this position carries strong leadership potential to grow with the payments organisation.
Core Responsibilities & Outcomes
- Translate payments strategy into clear operational priorities, execution plans, and measurable business results
- Drive cross-functional delivery for payment acceptance, terminals, pricing, optimisation, and merchant adoption initiatives
- Develop scalable operational processes, governance frameworks, and execution disciplines across the payments function
- Create visibility through reporting on active payments initiatives, operational performance, and strategic priorities
- Lead terminal and hardware initiatives, including device rollouts, upgrade cycles, replacement strategies, and optimisation programmes
- Serve as the operational bridge between Payments, Commercial, Product, Finance, and Operations teams, ensuring alignment and accountability
- Define ownership, timelines, KPIs, and delivery frameworks for complex cross-functional programmes
- Proactively identify blockers, risks, and dependencies, pushing towards resolution to maintain momentum
- Achieve measurable improvements in payment adoption, wallet share, operational efficiency, and execution performance
- Enhance cross-functional collaboration, delivery predictability, and operational scalability within payments
- Provide clear, structured updates and actionable insights to the Chief Payments Officer and broader leadership team
- Become a trusted operational partner to leadership, scaling and strengthening Fresha’s global payments ecosystem

What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Proven expertise in payments, fintech, acquiring, merchant services, or POS/terminal environments
- Dedicated track record delivering complex cross-functional programmes at scale in high-growth contexts
- Strong operational leadership with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities
- Deep expertise in payment acceptance, acquiring, optimisation, merchant operations, or terminal ecosystems
- Experience coordinating with commercial and go-to-market teams to drive adoption, revenue growth, wallet share, or pricing initiatives
- Aptitude for structuring ambiguity and executing effectively with limited direction
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across Product, Commercial, Operations, and Executive leadership
- Commercially minded with analytical, problem-solving expertise
- Execution-focused with a strong sense of ownership, pace, and accountability
- Comfortable leading high-visibility priorities in fast-paced, evolving systems with autonomy

Nice to Have
- Experience in global or multi-market payments organisations
- Knowledge of payment hardware, terminal estate management, or in-person commerce
- Exposure to scaling fintech or marketplaces, including acquisition strategies
- Familiarity with PSPs, payment optimisation, or merchant growth frameworks
Interview Process
- Screening Call – Video call with the Talent Team (30 mins)
- 1st Stage – Online interview (45 mins)
- Final Stage – In-person interview with the Chief Payments Officer (60 mins)
We aim to complete the entire process and provide feedback within 2 weeks.
