About InvestEngine
InvestEngine is everything the modern investor should need. Unbeatable value, market-leading automation, and built for easy, long-term investing. We’ve built a strong foundation, have over £2 billion invested, award-winning service, and a passionate team — now we’re ready to scale.
About The Role
We’re looking for a Head of People to join our People & Talent team. You’ll be responsible for building and running InvestEngine’s people function end-to-end — covering both People and Talent, from regulatory compliance and performance to systems, automation, and hiring.
This role reports directly to the CEO, reflecting the importance of people as a core driver of company performance.
This role is ideal for someone who’s hands-on, execution-focused, and thrives in scaling environments. You’ve seen what breaks as companies grow from 100 to 500 employees — and you know how to fix it.
You’ll work closely with the CEO, leadership team, managers, and compliance, and have the autonomy to own and deliver the entire people agenda. This is a playing coach role — not a strategist sitting on the sidelines, but someone who leads by doing.
This is a hybrid role based in London, combining in-office collaboration with flexibility.
What You’ll Do
- Build and embed a performance-calibrated operating model and consistent, well-governed decision-making
- Run the performance management cycle end-to-end
- Coach and enable managers to operate effectively
- Drive an AI-first people operations approach — automating onboarding, enabling self-serve HR, and building scalable systems using Notion and modern tooling
- Design and implement automated, tech-enabled workflows across core people processes to keep the team lean while the company scales
- Partner with leadership to retain top talent, focusing on progression, performance differentiation, and high-quality manager conversations
- Own and scale the hiring and talent engine, building a structured, high-bar, values-driven approach to attracting and selecting top performers
- Own and ensure full regulatory compliance across all people processes, including FCA requirements, partnering closely with Compliance to maintain audit readiness

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
