Head of People Services

Head of People Services

The post-holder will provide senior leadership across the People Services team, with responsibility for:

  • Employee Relations Case Management for the Trust
  • Line management of Investigation Officers
  • Line management of People Business Leaders
  • Close collaboration with colleagues across the Wider People and Culture Directorate

Welsh Language Requirement

  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.
  • Welsh Language Level 1 skills are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Advice

  • Provide leadership and expert advice to the People Services Team and Employee Investigations Team on all Employee Relations matters and complex cases.

Strategic Alignment

  • Operate as a core member of the senior leadership team for the People & Culture Directorate:
    • Ensure strategies, plans, and ways of working are coherent, aligned, and effective.
    • Deliver a high-quality, value-added service to the organisation.

Executive Support

  • Deputise for the Assistant Director of People Services as required.
  • Represent People Services on relevant national groups, influencing the All-Wales workforce agenda.

People & Culture Leadership

  • Provide a comprehensive, professional, and high-quality people service to nominated Directorate(s).
  • Lead the Directors in developing:
    • People capacity and capability to meet business plans.
    • Robust and effective workforce planning.
