Head of Performance & Development

Field Based | UK Travel Required

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 + Benefits

We're delighted to be working with an ambitious and growing fitness business that's looking for an experienced Head of Performance & Development to join its senior leadership team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves coaching leaders, improving commercial performance and building high-performing teams. You'll have the chance to influence the direction of the business, work alongside an experienced executive team and make a genuine impact across a national portfolio of clubs.

The Opportunity

As Head of Performance & Development, you'll be responsible for leading and developing the Area Manager team, ensuring every region delivers exceptional commercial performance, operational excellence and outstanding leadership.

This isn't just about hitting targets. It's about creating a culture where people are inspired to perform at their best, leaders are empowered to coach effectively, and clubs consistently deliver outstanding experiences for members.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you'll help shape business strategy, improve leadership capability and ensure company initiatives are delivered consistently across the estate.

What You'll Be Doing

  • You'll spend your time coaching, mentoring and developing Area Managers to become exceptional business leaders.
  • You'll use performance data to identify opportunities, improve commercial results and support leaders through structured development plans. You'll also work closely with Club Managers, helping to strengthen leadership capability throughout the business and creating clear succession pathways for future talent.
  • Alongside this, you'll collaborate with senior leaders across operations, fitness and marketing to ensure strategic initiatives are implemented effectively in every club.
  • You'll be instrumental in creating a high-performance culture built around accountability, continuous improvement and delivering outstanding commercial results.

We're Looking For Someone Who...

  • Has experience leading Area or Regional Managers within a multi-site business.
  • Is passionate about coaching and developing high-performing leadership teams.
  • Has a strong commercial mindset and understands how to drive sales performance.
  • Enjoys using data and insight to improve business performance.
  • Can confidently influence senior stakeholders and build credibility across an organisation.
  • Leads with energy, positivity and high standards.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Experience within the fitness industry would be highly advantageous, although candidates from hospitality, leisure or retail with strong multi-site leadership experience will also be considered.
