Head of Personnel Security
Job Description Summary
At GE Vernova, we are at the heart of the global energy transition. As our customers navigate this shift, they require flexible, reliable, and intelligent solutions that can solve complex challenges while maximizing value. As innovators in power conversion and storage systems, we empower our utility and industrial partners by solving their most challenging electrification problems and accelerating the move toward a sustainable, decarbonized future. We are driving the growth of modern industry through technologies that strengthen energy infrastructure and improve grid stability across the UK and beyond.
Reporting directly to the UK Marine Director, this is a strategic regulatory governance and assurance role focused on industrial security, vetting compliance, and the application of the UK Government Security Policy Framework (SPF).
This position requires deep expertise in Joint Service Publications (JSP), the Security Policy Framework (SPF), and the management of government contracts requiring high-level security vetting. As the Head of Personnel Security, you will be the primary authority on protective security matters and the key interface between government agencies.
This is a hands-on role where you will oversee personnel security, leading the end-to-end administration, auditing, and processing of complex security clearances—including Baseline Personnel Security Standards (BPSS), Security Checks (SC), and Developed Vetting (DV). You will be accountable for ensuring that all personnel working on government-contracted projects maintain the appropriate level of clearance. In this capacity, you will serve as the lead liaison with the United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) agency, managing the complexities and timelines of these critical applications to ensure full compliance.
This is a hybrid role based at our Rugby, UK office 3 days a week.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
