Position Overview:

Position - Head of Physics
Location - Woking

As the Head of Physics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the physics curriculum and guiding the team of dedicated educators. You will have the opportunity to lead by example, promoting innovative teaching methodologies and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive physics curriculum that aligns with national standards and promotes inquiry-based learning.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of passionate physics educators, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and real-world applications into the physics curriculum.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Utilise assessment data and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional strategies and make data-driven decisions to enhance student learning outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • A master's or doctoral degree in Physics, Science Education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching physics at the secondary or post-secondary level, with a proven track record of instructional excellence.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of educators.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
