Lead the Future of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

We are seeking an exceptional candidate

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to become Head of Pilot Plant and lead manufacturing operations at our Sandwich site during a significant period of growth and investment. This is a high-profile leadership role with responsibility for operational excellence, strategic development and the future expansion of our manufacturing capabilities.

As a member of the Site Leadership Team, you will influence site strategy, develop high-performing teams, and help shape the next generation of API manufacturing, including emerging technologies and future commercial capabilities.

The Role

You will provide strategic and operational leadership for Pilot Plant manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, facilities, and warehousing activities, ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of client programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading cGMP manufacture of regulatory starting materials (RSMs), intermediates and APIs for clinical and commercial supply.
  • Driving technical evaluation, process scale-up and technology transfer from development laboratories and clients into manufacturing.
  • Ensuring excellence in EHS, quality, regulatory compliance and operational performance.
  • Managing site OPEX and CAPEX budgets
  • Conducting initiatives to continuously improve manufacturing efficiency and cost control.
  • Developing future manufacturing capabilities, capacity and investment plans.
  • Building and leading a high-performing team through coaching, development and succession planning.
  • Representing Asymchem in client visits/meetings, audits and business development activities.

About You, Your Experience and Qualifications

You are an accomplished manufacturing leader with a track record of delivering results in pharmaceutical, API, chemical or CDMO environments.

You will bring:

  • A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Significant leadership experience within regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP, process scale-up, technology transfer and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing departmental budgets.
  • A strong understanding of process safety and EHS requirements.
  • The ability to balance technical excellence, commercial priorities and customer expectations.
