The role
This company builds AI systems that automate how major financial institutions produce and validate client-ready work. They turn complex, manual analysis into automated workflows, trusted by global banks and private equity firms for their most sensitive data. Backed by leading VCs, they recently closed a significant Series A, bringing total funding to nearly $90M. The founders have two successful venture-backed exits behind them.
This is the first platform leadership hire. You'll own the end-to-end cloud strategy, architecting and scaling their Azure / AKS environment. You'll build the platform team from scratch. This isn't a role where you inherit existing standards; you'll define them, with the mandate and funding to build it properly. Your work directly enables product reliability, security, and compliance for demanding financial-services deployments.

The work
- Define and execute the end-to-end cloud strategy, architecting and scaling the Azure / AKS environment for global financial institutions.
- Build and lead the platform engineering team from the ground up, setting the technical bar and culture.
- Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines across backend, frontend, and data services.
- Implement product-wide observability, on-call rotations, and incident response.
- Drive the company through SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audits, implementing critical security, secrets management, and compliance measures.
What You Bring
- 10+ years in infrastructure or platform engineering, with deep experience architecting and operating production Kubernetes and Terraform at scale.
- Proven track record building and scaling engineering teams in high-growth startup environments.
- End-to-end ownership of infrastructure, from architecture to production support, including observability and on-call.
- Experience implementing security and compliance measures (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR) in regulated environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Azure cloud networking, production databases, and automation scripting (Python/Bash).
