An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Department to join my clients highly regarded Private Client team in their Newcastle offices.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead and manage the Private Client team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous development.
- Provide expert legal advice on wills, trusts, estate planning, probate, and tax matters.
- Provide regular supervision, guidance, and training to ensure technical excellence and career progression across the team.
- Develop and implement departmental strategy aligned with the firm’s overall goals.
- Drive business development initiatives.
- Promote a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing and continuous improvement are encouraged.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and firm-wide policies.

Skills & Experience
- Qualified solicitor with 8 years+ PQE in private client work.
- Strong technical knowledge of estate planning, trusts, tax, and probate.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a supportive and approachable leadership style.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, with a genuine interest in team development.
- Commercially astute with a proactive approach to business development.
- STEP qualification (or working towards) is highly desirable.
About The Team
The current team includes an associate solicitor, solicitor, trainee solicitor, paralegal, two personal assistants, a customer relationship manager, and an administration assistant. You will also be part of the wider management team of partners and department heads.
