Head of Procurement
Head of Procurement – HVAC Wholesale
Purpose
This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end procurement function within a fast-paced HVAC wholesale environment. The Head of Procurement will lead:
- Strategic sourcing
- Supplier relationship management
- Inventory planning
- Digitisation and procurement technology adoption
This role is pivotal in aligning procurement operations with the company’s growth strategy, driving efficiency, transparency, and competitive advantage while ensuring product availability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a procurement strategy aligned with business goals and market demands
- Establish and expand drop ship supplier models to enhance fulfilment efficiency and reduce stockholding costs
- Lead the adoption of digital tools and data-led decision-making across the procurement function
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing procurement team across multiple sites
- Build and maintain strong relationships with:
- Key global HVAC manufacturers
- OEMs
- Logistics partners
- Negotiate:
- Pricing, terms
- Long-term agreements Ensuring they support reliability, innovation, and margin improvement
- Collaborate with operations and sales to ensure optimal stock levels and product availability
- Monitor and manage:
- Lead times
- Product lifecycles
- Seasonal buying patterns
- Manage sourcing across key HVAC categories:
- AC units
- Fixings
- Tools
- Ventilation
- Refrigerants
- Electrical
- Ensure contracts include:
- SLAs
- Compliance standards
- Risk mitigation clauses
- Champion procurement digitisation through:
- E-procurement platforms
- Analytics dashboards
- Automated workflows
- Drive data-led decision-making to improve:
- Agility
- Supplier performance tracking
- Cost control
- Ensure compliance with:
- F-Gas
- CE
- RoHS
- Environmental regulations
- Promote ethical and sustainable sourcing practices across the supply chain

Essential Skills
A proven ability to:
- Lead strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and category management in HVAC or technical wholesale
- Exercise strong analytical ability with experience using:
- ERP systems (SAP, Netsuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
- Implement digital procurement tools and drive data-led decision-making
- Establish drop ship models and manage international supplier relationships
- Demonstrate strong commercial judgement with proficiency in:
- ERP systems alignment with business KPIs
- Serve as an effective team leader with a collaborative approach across:
- Sales
- Operations
- Finance
- Technical departments
