What's the role?
As Head of Procurement – Centre of Excellence (CoE), you'll be responsible for defining, embedding and continuously improving how procurement operates across DCC Energy GB.
This is a critical leadership role within our procurement transformation programme, focused on building the foundations of a high-performing, future-ready procurement function. You'll lead the development of procurement governance, systems, data, analytics, reporting, processes, policies and continuous improvement initiatives that enable procurement teams to operate more effectively and deliver greater value.
Working closely with business leaders, procurement colleagues and technology teams, you'll drive the adoption of best practice, improve procurement maturity and create the frameworks that support long-term success.
What you'll be doing
Procurement Excellence & Transformation
- Lead the development of DCC Energy GB's Procurement Centre of Excellence.
- Define and implement procurement frameworks, operating standards and governance models.
- Create scalable processes that support a consistent procurement approach across the organisation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase procurement maturity and effectiveness.

Procurement Systems & Digital Enablement
- Act as the functional owner for procurement technology platforms.
- Partner with IT to develop procurement system roadmaps and enhancement plans.
- Lead adoption of digital tools, automation opportunities and emerging technologies.
- Ensure systems support business objectives and deliver measurable value.
Data, Analytics & Reporting
- Develop enterprise-wide procurement reporting and spend visibility.
- Create meaningful dashboards, KPIs and performance reporting.
- Establish procurement data standards and governance frameworks.
- Turn procurement data into actionable insights that support better business decisions.
Governance & Process Excellence
- Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, templates and guidance.
- Ensure controls, compliance frameworks and governance processes are embedded.
- Simplify and optimise end-to-end procurement activities.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
Capability & Best Practice
- Embed industry-leading procurement practices across the organisation.
- Develop training, guidance and capability frameworks.
- Support procurement teams and stakeholders in adopting new tools and ways of working.
- Drive value creation beyond cost savings, including innovation, sustainability and risk reduction.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Leadership
- Build trusted relationships across the business.
- Lead change management activities that support procurement transformation.
- Drive awareness, understanding and adoption of new processes and systems.
- Create feedback mechanisms that support continuous improvement.
What you'll bring
Essential Experience
- Significant procurement experience, including leadership within a Procurement Centre of Excellence, procurement transformation, governance or strategic procurement environment.
- Experience leading procurement systems, process improvement and capability development programmes.
- Proven track record of implementing procurement technology and digital solutions.
- Strong experience in procurement analytics, reporting and performance management.
- Experience operating in complex, matrix organisations and influencing senior stakeholders.

Knowledge & Capability
- Deep understanding of procurement operating models and governance frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Source-to-Contract, Procure-to-Pay and supplier management processes.
- Experience with analytics platforms, reporting tools and procurement technologies.
- Ability to translate complex data into meaningful business insights.
- Strong change management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
