Role: Head of Procurement

Location: London, England, United Kingdom (2-3 days a week from our London offices)

About The Role

Reporting into the Group Chief Finance Officer and with dotted line into the Group’s Chief Procurement Officer, this role is responsible for driving a seamless procurement lifecycle through buying goods and services for the company and across our wider group of companies, globally. Bringing a technology first mentality, driving transformational change, proactively identifying needs and developing specifications, to negotiating cost effective contracts, managing key suppliers, and ensuring service delivery exceeds business goals and objectives.

Working closely with the client CPO, to create and deliver group wide spend synergies and opportunities, the successful candidate will be able to think strategically, can build brilliant stakeholder relationships naturally, and has a genuine passion for utilising technology to drive benefit to our business through automation.

Key categories of spend in scope will be the management of Technology (including but not limited to software/SaaS/hardware) consultancy services, HR tech and services and various corporate services.

What You Will Be Doing

  • To build, develop and own an opportunity pipeline to deliver short, mid, and long-term value adding initiatives for IIG and leveraging our buying power across the wider Brandtech Group companies.
  • Playing a central role in driving the launch of the recently acquired Procurement technology (Omnea) for IIG is a key deliverable for this role.
  • Working closely with both exec and senior operational leads to create and implement effective procurement strategies that align with the organisation’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Through technology, proactively leveraging data insights, benchmarks, and metrics to innovate and drive both new and ongoing cost saving opportunities, aligned to business growth ambitions for the group.
  • Adapting and championing best practice processes for sourcing products and services across the group.
  • Positively influencing our Sustainability and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) objectives through our key suppliers.
  • Mitigate commercial and reputational risk through robust contract management and proactively managing our renewal pipeline.
  • Working collaboratively with key IIG delivery leads to ensure the buying process is clearly communicated, understood, and adhered to effectively. Ensuring strategic alignment and fostering collaboration between procurement and the wider group teams to deliver the strategic objectives.

What You Need To Be Great In This Role

  • Significant senior experience in a related procurement role. Having experience of leading or being a part of building a Procurement function is an advantage.
  • A self-starter, with strong leadership and demonstrable experience at being able to influence up to senior executive level.
  • In depth knowledge of operating and launching latest Procurement technology to drive efficiency through automation is highly desirable.
  • Proven in-depth knowledge of sourcing principles and best practices.
  • Experience of IT/Technology spend categories is advantageous.
  • Is adaptable and thrives working in a fast paced and positively changing environment.
  • Demonstrating excellent negotiation skills, ability to think creatively and outside the box to drive positive outcomes for the business.
  • A strong understanding of key contractual terms and conditions to help drive efficiencies and mitigate legal risk.
  • Being resilient and having a positive and proactive problem-solving mindset is important.
  • Analytical and able to interpret data quickly, strong Excel skills are required.
