About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Head of Product to oversee the development of Kew’s public-facing digital products and services, delivering our ambitious Digital Strategy. In this pivotal role, you will shape and lead the strategy and delivery of a diverse portfolio of products that connect millions of people with Kew’s world-leading science, conservation, and visitor experiences.

- Salary: £61,337 – £71,424 per year (depending on experience, Band F7)
- Directorate: Marketing & Commercial Enterprise
- Location: Hybrid (Kew Gardens, Richmond)

Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Develop and oversee user-focused digital products and services
- Create and execute digital product strategies
- Manage a portfolio of digital products, including kew.org and shop.kew.org
- Lead the digital product vision, roadmaps, and framework at Kew
- Head a team of Digital Product Managers, driving improvements across existing products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and deliver high-value digital experiences
- Align digital initiatives with Kew’s mission to protect plants, fungi, and global biodiversity

Leadership & Collaboration
- Inspire and mentor product teams to adopt best practices in product management and agile working
- Influence strategic decision-making with data-driven insights
- Partner with scientists, horticulturists, technologists, and marketers to design solutions
- Champion innovation while balancing user needs with organisational goals
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential
- Proven experience leading digital product strategy and roadmaps
- Strong user-centred design and product management skills
- Knowledge of customer experience (CX) and service design principles
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-department collaboration
- Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and Digital Product Management frameworks
- Passion for sustainability, science, or conservation—an advantage
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with customer relationship platforms (e.g., CRM systems)
- Experience in e-commerce or community engagement digital platforms
- Background in museum, education, or heritage sectors
