Head of Product Design

The Opportunity
At ZILO™, you’ll lead all product design for our tech stack, shaping a UI-first mindset across our platform.
Based in Canary Wharf (2-3 office days/week), this role involves:
- Supplementing hybrid work with knowledge-sharing from the office
- Collaborating in a dynamic, inclusive environment where visionary yet pragmatic leadership matters
The Role: Key Responsibilities
1. Product Design Leadership
- Owner of the end-to-end product design strategy, ensuring alignment across all ZILO™ products.
- Blend UI craft with UX thinking, delivering clean interfaces and intuitive workflows.
- Bridge complex financial/operational processes into user-centric experiences.
- Balance quality and speed—maintain high standards without slowing delivery.
2. Building a UI-First Design Team
- Hire and mentor UI designers anchored in UX—no silos.
- Demand full ownership from designers on flows, interactions, usability, and visual design.
- Foster a culture of end-to-end product ownership from ideation to final execution.

3. Design Systems & Efficiency
- Architect, enforce, and evolve a scalable modular design system.
- Reduce duplication by ensuring components are inspectable, reusable, and buildable.
- Drive repeatable patterns for predictable, demo-ready designs.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Sit front-and-center between Product & Engineering—partnernship not just feedback.
- Embed design earlier in discovery and refine backlogs with defensible prototypes.
- Focus deliverables as probability-led, cutting write-offs from unrealisable features.
5. Brand & Consistency
- Lead UI governance and brand consistency across modules/releases.
- Maintain up-to-date design documentation and standards apps.
- Own the ethos and execution of ZILO™’s visual language.
Who You Are
Core Requirements
- 8+ years combined UI + UX design experience
- 3+ years leading design teams in B2B SaaS/Fintech
- Deep interaction design and visual fidelity expertise
- Proven record building/upgrading design systems
- Science-first�aget-work—partnered with engineering in Agile shipping
- Designed complex, rich-data enterprise platforms ( Kenneth thought leadership?ace over strategy)
- Doer—not just a force-multiplier
