As demand for systematic investment strategies continues to grow, Bloomberg is investing in the next generation of index capabilities spanning equity, fixed income, and multi-asset solutions. Our Product Development organization sits at the intersection of quantitative research, product innovation, and technology, transforming investment ideas into scalable, investable index solutions used by clients around the world.

What's the Role?

As Head of Product Development, you will lead Bloomberg's global Index Product Development organization, providing strategic leadership to Product Development Team Leaders responsible for the design, development, and launch of Bloomberg's index capabilities across multiple asset classes.

  • Lead Bloomberg's global Index Product Development organization, developing Product Development Team Leaders responsible for the design, development, and launch of Bloomberg's index capabilities across equity, fixed income, and multi-asset solutions.
  • Define the strategic direction for Product Development, driving innovation while ensuring Bloomberg's index methodologies are scalable, commercially relevant, and aligned with evolving client needs.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Research, Production, Sales, Marketing, and Index Governance to bring new index capabilities from concept through launch.
  • Build a high-performing Product Development organization by developing leaders and establishing best practices across methodology development, governance, and execution.
  • Represent Bloomberg with clients and industry participants, helping shape the future direction of Bloomberg Indices.

You'll Need To Have

  • 15+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing quantitative teams across multiple geographies. Experience gained within an index provider, asset manager, investment bank, or financial technology organization, leading quantitative product development, systematic investment, or index development functions.
  • Demonstrated success leading managers and building high-performing quantitative organizations in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Deep expertise in systematic investment strategies, portfolio construction, and the development of quantitative investment products across one or more asset classes, with a strong understanding of index construction or benchmark methodologies.
  • A track record of defining product strategy, translating quantitative investment ideas into scalable solutions, and delivering products that meet client and market needs.
  • Strong commercial judgment, excellent communication skills, and a quantitative background supported by a degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or another related discipline.
  • Experience applying alternative data or AI to quantitative research or systematic investment strategies.

  • Experience across multiple asset classes, including equity, fixed income, and multi-asset investing.
  • A track record of building innovative quantitative investment products with a demonstrable track record of launching index or systematic investment products that achieved significant commercial scale.
