- Partner closely with Product teams to ensure all new and material product developments are aligned to HBUK and Group strategies, risk appetite and customer outcomes expectations
- Define and maintain clear approval pathways for new products, material changes, customer communications, and product remediation; ensure appropriate senior sign-off and timely escalation of issues, breaches and emerging risks
- Drive simplification of the end-to-end product review and approval processes, improving decision quality and turnaround times while maintaining robust governance and evidence
- Ensure strong governance, risk management and compliance with regulatory expectations and relevant product governance frameworks, supported by high-quality documentation and management information.
- Embed delivery of good customer outcomes at the heart of product lifecycle governance, including fair value assessments and outcomes-focused insights (e.g. target market, distribution strategy, foreseeable harm and customer understanding)
- Lead oversight of periodic and event-driven product reviews, including review triggers, thematic insights, and assessment of customer impact

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
