We are driving cost efficiency and profitable growth across Royal Mail through exceptional data driven analysis. We are building a world class profitability analytics capability, and this role is crucial in driving this forward.

As Head of Profitability Insights, you will own the Customer Contribution Model, which is striving to be the single source of truth for profitability insight and margin reporting used by senior leaders across Royal Mail.

About The Role

Reporting to the Director of Insights & Analytics, you will lead the finance analytics roadmap, prototype solutions in code, and champion the use of insight across Operations, Commercial, Pricing and the Executive Board.

You will lead a high performing team and be the single accountable owner of enterprise profitability insight.

You will also:

  • Own enterprise profitability insight and ensure CCM is trusted as the authoritative source
  • Drive commercial impact by surfacing margin risks and opportunities early
  • Define and deliver a clear profitability analytics roadmap
  • Champion organisation wide use of profitability insight in decision making
  • Lead and develop a high performing, commercially curious team
  • Ensure data quality, governance and model integrity
  • Own activity-based costing integration and evolution
  • Engage senior stakeholders and embed CCM in key decision forums

About You

You are a confident and commercially focused leader with:

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with advanced analytical and modelling capability and a proven track record of owning complex financial models
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight and deliver compelling, board ready storytelling
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive strategic decisions
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience in SQL and or Python
  • Strong focus on data quality, governance and continuous improvement, with knowledge of activity-based costing and cost to serve
  • Experience working in large, complex organisations
  • Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACA or ACCA is desirable
