Summary of Role

Raytheon UK is seeking a dynamic, driven, inspirational and experienced Programme Director to lead the successful delivery of a strategically important contract. As Programme Director for Raytheon UK in a Prime Contractor role, you will lead a Raytheon Programme Management team and coordinate across Tier 1 and Tier 2 partners, and work alongside the customer. The programme operates in the Military Land Training domain.

This role does not need to be a domain expert; there is an abundance of domain expertise in the programme, what this role must bring is expertise in programme management processes and tools, and experience in applying these across large programmes.

Main Duties

  • This role reports to the Managing Director of Omnia Training based in Warminster.
  • The role holder will work collaboratively with industry partners, suppliers and the customer to successfully mobilise, deliver and continuously improve the Army Collective Training Service.
  • The main duties of the role are to:
    • Lead, manage and successfully deliver all contractual requirements within agreed budgets, schedules and performance standards.
    • Establish and maintain programme governance, risk management, reporting and control frameworks to ensure successful programme execution.
    • Promote Programme Management Excellence (PMX) best practice and lead by example to instil a culture of flawless programme execution, accountability and continuous improvement.
    • Conduct a regular tempo of downwards and upwards governance engagements to assure delivery and programme success.
    • Develop, coach and mentor programme team members.
    • Develop collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders within the Customer, strategic Partners, an ecosystem of Suppliers and across Raytheon.
    • Be part of the Omnia Training senior leadership team.
    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for Programme Execution.
    • Actively contribute to the development of Knowledge and Skills across the Raytheon UK PMX function.

Candidate Requirements

  • Successful track record in delivering complex programmes, preferably for a prime contractor and including systems integration.
  • Experienced in working within partnering environments in a prime contractor role, alongside the customer and other contract delivery contractors.
  • Experienced in leading large multi-disciplined teams over geographically dispersed sites.
  • Track record of delivering business transformation through innovation, continuous improvement and the introduction of new technologies and processes.
  • Strong commercial, financial and performance management skills commensurate with delivery of large complex projects.
  • Experienced user of industry standard project management tools, techniques, and methodologies. Ideally in a defence context.
  • Current holder of, or eligibility to obtain, SC MOD security clearance.
  • Due to the security classification of this programme, candidates must be UK nationals (not dual nationals) and resident in the UK.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams. Typically requires:

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or
  • An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
