Reporting to: Divisional QHSE Director, with dotted line into the Power and Grid Managing Director
Head of QHSE – Power & Grid Division

Are you an experienced and confident QHSE leader with a passion for continuous improvement and risk management? Mitie is seeking a Head of QHSE to oversee the full spectrum of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment across our Power & Grid Business Unit—supporting transformational delivery of large-scale infrastructure programmes.
As the trusted partner to the QHSE Director and senior leadership teams across Rock, Custom Solar, ESM and G2, you'll lead from the front to ensure safe, compliant, and high-performing operations. This is an opportunity to influence strategy, set standards, build relationships, and drive a culture of excellence across multiple disciplines and sites.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead a cross-business QHSE team and drive high-impact improvement plans
- Oversee compliance across Power & Grid operations, ensuring alignment with divisional and sector objectives
- Deliver root cause analysis on incidents and non-conformances and embed preventative solutions
- Shape and implement assurance programmes in partnership with the QHSE Director
- Support tender activities with expert QHSE input and policy development
- Leverage data and audit insights to build a proactive, performance-led safety culture
- Build trusted client relationships and champion safe delivery within operational leadership teams
What We're Looking For:
- Chartered QHSE professional (CMIOSH)
- Experience in training delivery, grid or electrical engineering environments
- Proven experience in senior multi-site leadership roles
- Strong working knowledge of CDM, civils, and infrastructure programmes
- Expertise in internal audits, ISO standards, and incident reporting systems
- Comfortable influencing at senior levels and managing cross-functional teams
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel and adapt as needed

Health and Safety responsibilities
- Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
- Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;
Information Security
- Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities;
- Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
- Report actual and suspected security incidents;
