Head of Quality & Patient Experience

BPAS is the UK's leading provider of abortion care and reproductive healthcare, supporting more than 100,000 women each year through a network of clinics and telemedicine services. We are seeking a Head of Quality & Patient Experience to join the Chief Nursing & Midwifery Officer's leadership team and help shape quality, safety and patient experience across our national service.

About the Role

This senior leadership role provides strategic oversight of quality improvement, patient experience, professional standards and regulatory assurance across BPAS. Working closely with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues, you will help ensure our services remain safe, effective, sustainable and patient-centred.

You will lead and develop the Quality Matrons and Patient Experience Manager, fostering high-performing teams and a culture of continuous improvement, learning and accountability.

Using data, professional expertise and insight, you will provide assurance, identify opportunities for improvement and support organisational priorities.

You will also contribute to strategic decision-making, service transformation, workforce development and quality improvement programmes that enhance patient care across BPAS.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Provide strategic leadership for quality, patient experience and professional standards across BPAS
  • Lead & develop the Quality Matrons & Patient Experience Manager, promoting high performance and continuous improvement
  • Provide assurance on quality, patient experience, regulatory compliance and professional practice through effective use of data, insight and professional judgement
  • Lead quality improvement programmes, ensuring learning drives meaningful & sustainable improvements
  • Work with senior leaders across clinical, operational & corporate functions to support organisational priorities & objectives
  • Support workforce planning, professional development, succession planning & professional accountability across relevant clinical groups
  • Contribute to organisational transformation, service development & future models of care, ensuring quality & professional considerations inform decision-making
  • Act as a visible professional leader & role model, championing BPAS values & high standards of clinical practice

About You

You will be a Registered Nurse, Midwife or Allied Health Professional with active registration & significant experience in a senior clinical leadership role within a regulated healthcare environment.

You will bring:

  • Experience leading quality improvement, change & transformation programmes
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, quality assurance & regulatory compliance
  • The ability to use data to identify risks and improvements
  • Experience leading & developing clinical teams & leaders

Location

Hybrid - Home working with occasional to Head Office and BPAS units when required.

Salary

£63,240 per annum

Hours

36 hours per week | Monday to Thursday 09:00-17:00 and Friday 09:00-15:30

On Call

All members of the Senior Operating Team will be required to participate in an on-call rota. The On-Call policy and procedure is being reviewed and revised, however it is envisaged that participation will involve being available to receive emergency / on-call telephone calls up to 9pm Monday to Friday and on Saturdays and Sundays approximately 4 times per year.
