About the Organisation

Established over 100 years ago, this prestigious engineering organisation is a vital partner for high-profile clients. Based in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Leeds, they currently employ over 120 people and produce bespoke high-end products across various industries.

The organisation is ideally located near major towns and cities, including Bradford, Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Halifax, Wakefield, Castleford, Pontefract, Bingley, and Keighley, making commuting convenient for candidates from surrounding areas.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a company-wide quality strategy to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Lead and mentor Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Continuous Improvement teams across manufacturing operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement programmes using methods such as Lean, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant quality, environmental, and safety management systems.
  • Manage customer quality requirements, audits, complaints, and corrective actions to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
  • Establish and monitor quality KPIs, analysing performance data to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Senior Leadership teams to deliver product quality, process excellence, and operational performance objectives.

Requirements

We’re seeking applicants with:

  • Proven experience in a senior Quality leadership role, particularly in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems, including experience in leading internal and external audits.
  • Demonstrable success in driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to develop high-performing quality teams.
  • Experience managing customer quality requirements, supplier quality performance, and corrective action processes.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with a data-driven approach to quality and operational performance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all organisational levels.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: Up to £100,000 (based on experience)
  • Competitive bonus scheme (aligned with personal and company performance)
  • Flexible working hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Standardised workday:
    • Monday to Thursday: 08:15AM – 05:00PM (with a 4-hour minimum day: 2AM & 2PM)
    • Friday: 08:15AM – 12:45PM
  • 33 days Annual Leave (including Bank Holidays)
  • Combined pension contribution: 10%
  • SalSac Car Scheme eligible after 12 months of employment
