Head of Regional Fundraising Scotland

Marie Curie: The UK’s Leading End-of-Life Charity

We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, offering a single service provider across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Providing community nursing, hospice care, information, and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement, we push the boundaries of end-of-life knowledge through research. Head of Regional Fundraising

Location: Home-based role in Scotland (expected travel) Contract: Full-time permanent

About the Role

This senior leadership opportunity focuses on shaping and delivering Marie Curie’s regional fundraising strategy for Scotland.

You’ll lead and grow regional fundraising by:

  • Driving a high-performing team and ensuring sustainable income growth across diverse sources.
  • Strengthening Marie Curie’s regional presence through partnerships, campaigns, and events.
  • Fostering trusted corporate, community, and supporter relationships.
  • Overseeing a multi-million-pound fundraising budget.

Corporate office: Home-based (expected travel required).


Key Impact

  • Lead and deliver an ambitious regional fundraising strategy, achieving financial targets while maintaining high standards.
  • Maximise income growth, optimising investment across:
    • Community and regional partnerships
    • Flagship campaigns
    • Fundraising events
  • Develop and coach a high-performing regional fundraising team.
  • Build and strengthen local partnerships with communities, supporters, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Manage financial controls, including budget oversight, forecasting, and KPI tracking.
  • Advocate as part of the Scottish leadership team, representing Marie Curie across stakeholder engagements.
  • Grow our regional volunteering network, enhancing the reach and impact within Scotland.

Key Criteria

Essential

  • Proven experience leading fundraising or commercial income growth.
  • Strong skillset for team development and management, coaching high-achievers.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on operational experience.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Outstanding relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assurance in senior-level influence and representation.
  • Collaborative mindset with cross-functional agility.

What We Offer

Salary:

£46,350–£51,500 (proportionate to experience with potential-managed bonus).
