We are now looking for a 12-month maternity cover for our Head of Regulatory role.
About the Role
Reporting to our Chief Product Officer, you’ll be our expert in market compliance needs, using your expansive knowledge to proactively detect and act on potential risks and ensure we remain ready to roll out ambitious strategies for our brands in all markets.
You will:
- Support the Leadership team and wider teams in implementing the right regulatory approach.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external regulatory expertise.
- Lead a global regulatory function, driving and implementing regulatory strategies.
- Work on exciting projects and products while expanding your network for robust regulation horizon scanning.
This is a hybrid role (3 days from our Innovation Centre in Aylesbury, 2 days from home) with a current team of 3 positions, recruiting a 4th member. The salary range is £70,000 - £80,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Builds a technical regulatory knowledge base for Medik8 to ensure full product compliance across all territories.
- Presents compliance strategies related to ''grey areas'' of regulation.
- Advises and oversees relevant actions for upcoming regulatory changes across operating markets.
- Oversees regulatory processes in product development, including:
- Ingredient checks,
- Formulation reviews,
- PIF (Product Information File) creation,
- Product registrations.
- Provides guidance on international labelling regulations, proposing optimal strategies for compliance.
- Approves applicable sections of **product artworks.
- Assesses and facilitates regulatory needs and requests for:
- Existing and new markets,
- Customers,
- Internal teams.
- Delivers compliance advice in the process.
- Oversees cosmetovigilance, ensuring adverse effects are investigated and resolved efficiently.
- Acts as a leadership role in promoting:
- Product quality,
- Collaboration,
- Integrity,
- Agility,
- Innovation.
- Coaches, mentors, and develops team members within R&D.
- Sets an exemplary standard for the broader R&D organisation.

Requirements
- Strong industry experience in similar roles, with expertise in international product registration processes.
- A solid technical background in:
- UK/EU, and International Cosmetic regulations,
- US/FDA and Australia/TGA frameworks.
- A University degree in relevant fields such as:
- Business or Law,
- Cosmetic science, chemical engineering,
- Biochemistry,
- Pharmaceutical sciences.
- A passion for cosmetics and innovation with a desire to see Medik8 succeed.
- Exceptional communication skills, emphasizing:
- Reliability in time-sensitive delivering for customers,
- Meeting internal deadlines.
