Your role
Do you have in-depth knowledge and expertise in hedge funds and private markets investing? Are you passionate about investment risk, analytics, and governance across alternative investments? Do you enjoy working at the intersection of investment teams, senior leadership, and control functions?
We are looking for someone like you to establish and lead the Risk & Analytics function for our Unified Global Alternatives (UGA) division. In this role, you will provide a cross vertical, UGA wide view of investment risk, while supporting strong bottom up risk ownership within each investment vertical.
You will:
- Define and maintain standardized investment risk monitoring frameworks across all UGA investment verticals
- Oversee investment risks across underlying funds, portfolios, and co investments, with a focus on identifying outsized, concentrated, or correlated risks
- Aggregate risk insights across verticals to identify cross UGA risk themes, including manager concentration, exposure overlap, and systemic risks
- Track adherence to investment risk guidelines, establish alert mechanisms, and ensure structured escalation of breaches or emerging risks
- Lead the preparation of UGA wide risk reporting, dashboards, and exposure summaries for senior management
- Present, challenge, and escalate material risks at the UGA Investment Risk Forum, ensuring clear documentation and follow up of agreed actions
- Act as the primary 1st Line of Defense counterpart to UBS Asset Management Risk Control (2nd Line of Defense), ensuring effective challenge and triangulation of risk assessments
- Conduct ad hoc and thematic risk reviews in response to emerging market developments or senior management requests
- Build and lead the UGA Risk & Analytics team, setting priorities, quality standards, and ways of working across the function

You will lead the UGA Risk & Analytics function and work closely with colleagues across UGA investment verticals (Hedge Funds, Private Credit, Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Solutions), and UBS Asset Management Risk Control, as well as regular interaction with UGA senior leadership and governance forums.
Your expertise
- Ideally 15+ years in investment risk management, portfolio analytics, or a related role in alternatives
- Strong understanding of alternative asset classes and associated investment risks (e.g., concentration, liquidity, performance outliers) in a global context
- Global experience working within an investment team with close interaction with independent oversight functions
- Acute analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex risk information into clear, senior level insights
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence engaging senior investment stakeholders
- Proactive and structured approach, with the ability to operate effectively in build‑out and change environments
- Proven ability to challenge constructively, while maintaining strong and trusted partnerships
- Proficiency with automation, AI, and technology tools
- Curiosity to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or international equivalent) in finance, economics, or a related discipline

Salary information
The indicative gross base salary range as a full-time equivalent role:
United States - New York - New York
- min USD 275000 - max USD 375000 /annum
The expected salary for this role will be determined by relevant factors which may include but are not limited to, role-required experience, qualifications, education, location and skill level.
