About the Opportunity

Now, we’re entering an exciting phase of growth and looking for a passionate Head of Safety, Health, Environment to lead our future direction, including ambitious environmental and net-zero initiatives.
This is a rare opportunity to shape site-wide SHE strategy, influence culture, and drive continuous improvement within a busy, dynamic food manufacturing environment.
The Role
As Head of SHE, your role will be integral to applying your expertise to ensure compliance, improve safety culture, and drive sustainability initiatives at a transformative stage in our growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the site-wide SHE strategy, aligning with business objectives and CPC Group standards
- Champion a proactive safety culture, empower operational teams, and embed environmental responsibility across the business
- Apply NEBOSH/IOSH Plan-Do-Check-Act principles to drive safety and efficiency
- Maintain and improve the Safety Management System (ensuring compliance and effectiveness)
- Identify, quantify, and manage significant SHE risks while ensuring robust oversight of the operation
- Monitor, challenge, and improve SHE KPIs to achieve measurable results
- Conduct health, safety, and environmental audits, verifying compliance with UK legislation and best practice standards
- Deliver engaging training programmes (including emergency procedures and workplace safety)
- Ensure PUWER compliance for all plant, machinery, and equipment inspections
- Manage environmental sustainability initiatives, including hazardous waste monitoring, pollutant control, and net-zero strategies
- Foster a culture of accountability, driving operational excellence and ownership

About You
We’re seeking a confident, experienced SHE leader with a demonstrated track record in influencing at all levels. You’ll be someone who thrives at the crossroads of operational responsibility and strategic vision.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- NEBOSH Diploma or degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline
- Proven experience in a senior SHE leadership role within manufacturing or food production
- Strong familiarity with UK health, safety, and environmental legislation
- ISO 14001 experience (Environmental Management Systems)
- Track record of driving sustainability and environmental improvements
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities
- Ability to develop SHE policies, influence culture, and deliver meaningful change
