A bit about what you will be doing:

The Head of Sales is responsible for driving group and event revenue across dining, private dining, events, and tours/groups. This role leads the central sales function and works in collaboration with the restaurant teams to cultivate new business opportunities across key corporate clients, conference and incentive agents, event organisers, and the travel trade, while growing and developing existing key relationships.

You will also play a key role in implementing efficient sales processes, driving conversion, and managing the performance of the central sales team. This position requires a commercial mindset, strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on engagement across all revenue channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Sales Director to develop and implement effective sales strategies that will drive revenue and achieve sales targets across all venues.
  • Drive both proactive and reactive sales approaches to capitalise on new business opportunities and optimise existing client relationships.
  • Identify areas of opportunity within the group, especially in underperforming venues, and implement targeted sales initiatives to boost performance.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, with a focus on corporate clients, large-scale events, and high-value private dining experiences.
  • Lead and manage the private dining and events sales strategy across all sites, focusing on driving high-value bookings and maximising revenue.
  • Collaborate closely with restaurant management teams to ensure seamless execution of large events, offering a world-class dining experience tailored to client needs.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the marketing team to create and execute targeted campaigns aimed at specific customer segments and markets.
  • Align sales strategies with ongoing marketing initiatives, ensuring a consistent message across all customer touchpoints, from promotions to customer retention programs.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the marketing team on where to focus efforts based on sales data and trends.
  • Provide detailed reporting on sales performance, including KPIs, revenue targets, and event bookings, to the Sales Director and senior leadership.
  • Use data-driven insights to adjust sales tactics and improve overall performance.
  • Mentor and lead junior sales staff, providing guidance on proactive sales techniques, client management, and event booking.
  • Foster a culture of high performance and accountability within the sales team, ensuring everyone is aligned with the broader company goals.
  • Set clear objectives and performance targets for the team, driving results in a competitive environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior sales role, ideally within the luxury hospitality or restaurant industry.
  • Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of sales dynamics, especially in relation to high-end dining and private events.
  • A track record of successfully driving revenue growth and improving the performance of underperforming venues.
  • Experience working in a competitive market with the ability to implement aggressive sales strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
  • Collaborative mindset, with experience working alongside marketing teams to drive sales growth.
  • Analytical and results-focused, with proficiency in using sales data to inform decisions.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
