Head of Sales Block Discounting & Wholesale
The Head of Sales Block Discounting & Wholesale will be responsible for the sales unit.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include sales origination, assessing and submitting credit applications, managing the portfolio, enforcing security, management of the security package, and ensuring audits are completed on time. You will also be responsible for the management of the sales team, training, and development, as well as managing the P&L to achieve the companies’ objectives. You will be required to write the annual strategy, as well as regularly reviewing the strategy to ensure we are on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Writing and continually reviewing the annual strategy against pre agreed annual targets.
- Responsibility for managing the P&L to ensure achievement of all company objectives and targets.
- Management of the sales team, including staff development, and training.
- Responsible to ensure all new credit proposals meet the required standards and attend credit committees to ensure successful outcomes of all proposals.
- Manage the portfolio to reduce risks, enforce security, ensure all audits are carried out satisfactorily to ensure the company is always protected. Always maximise profitability to reach the company objectives.
- Complete all annual reviews on time, and ensure the company has the right levels of protection and security in place.
- Regularly review the credit policy with Credit to ensure full compliance, changes in regulation, and legislative changes are reviewed and assessed.
- Propose exceptions to facility terms to RAF credit as well as AL credit.
- Comment on and follow up on all audit commentary to ensure full compliance with security packages and compliance with credit policy. Where instructed by Group Credit and risk follow their instruction.
- Adhere to all Block Discounting approved policies and standard operating procedures.

Person Specification
Knowledge/Experience/Skills
- Extensive experience in a client-facing and relationship management role
- Strong self-motivation
- Substantial experience managing a P&L.
- Ability to seek profitable new business opportunities with target prospects and to convert them to completed contracts
- Extensive experience in Asset finance, Block Discounting/Wholesale.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Proven success in building relationships with people at all levels
- Positive, can-do attitude
