Head of Sales Development
Company Description BlueOptima is an engineering intelligence platform trusted by some of the world’s largest banks, insurers, and enterprises. We give CTOs, CIOs, and engineering leaders the objective data they need to measure software engineering productivity, prove AI ROI, and reduce delivery risk.
Every large organisation is trying to determine whether their AI coding investment is actually paying off, and most cannot answer that question with confidence. Our research and our platform are built to provide these organisations with the answer we’re developing the commercial engine to deliver it directly to the right stakeholders.
Head of Sales Development
Location: London (office), hybrid with 2 remote days
Reporting to: CRO alongside Head of Sales, Head of Marketing, and Head of Channel Partnerships
About the Role
As demand for engineering intelligence grows, we’re investing in dedicated commercial leadership. This role enables outbound pipeline generation, accountable for quality, volume, and conversion rates in booked qualified enterprise meetings. You’ll report directly to the CRO.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline Generation
- Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly meeting targets for core enterprise accounts (financial services, technology, healthcare).
- Define and uphold standards for qualified meetings.

Team Leadership
- Directly manage and coach the SDR team by tracking individual pipelines, call quality, and performance.

Use AI-driven coaching, call intelligence, and outbound sequence analytics to develop team performance daily.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing on target account prioritization, outreach sequences, and campaign-to-meeting conversion.
- Keep the SLA between SDR and Marketing aligned, ensuring accountability for underperformance when conversions drop.

Operations & Deliverables
- Continuously identify and implement AI optimisations in processes/tech stack to tangibly improve performance.
- Produce a weekly CRO report detailing attainment, leading indicators, and next-action agenda.
What You’ll Bring
Core Technical & Medical Requirements
- 5+ years in B2B Enterprise SaaS Sales Development, with 2+ years leading an SDR team.
- Experience modernizing outbound motions through AI tools, conversation intelligence, and advanced sequencing to fit conversion growth.
- Deep analytical mindset – data-driven decision-making, not reactive.
- Preferred: Direct experience in regulated enterprise environments (e.g., financial services).
