About Us
We are a historic Sanctuary in Yorkshire, bringing together retreat and event spaces, wellbeing facilities, holiday cottages, an on-site business community, and a major nature recovery project.
The Sanctuary is entering a new phase of growth and needs a stronger commercial structure to support its next stage.
About the Role
We are looking for a commercially strong Head of Sales & Marketing to lead sales strategy, generate new business, and help grow the Sanctuary as a destination.
This is a build role. We need someone who can create a clear sales system, open new opportunities, bring in the right clients, and guide the marketing effort so that content, campaigns, and sales activity all support the same commercial goal.
What You Will Do
- Own the sales strategy and commercial performance across retreats, corporate, cottages, and guest experiences
- Build a clear sales pipeline and improve how leads are generated, followed up, and converted
- Proactively find new clients through outreach, partnerships, networks, and direct sales
- Lead key sales conversations and support the team in closing business
- Shape the calendar with commercial logic: not just a full calendar, but the right calendar
- Guide marketing priorities: what content is needed, who it is for, and where it should be used
- Work with internal and external marketing support to make the strategy land
- Ensure health and safety requirements are met across all areas of the department

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
