Head of Search

Head of Search

The role. WilsonCooke is looking for a Head of Search to take over full ownership of search from the current Head of SEO, who is moving to lead another division in the Agency Group. This is a senior, strategic role for someone who understands where search is going, not just where it’s been.

You’ll lead SEO, GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation), and social search across our client base, set the standards the team works to, and help position WilsonCooke as a leader in modern search.

This isn’t a role about holding performance steady. It’s about defining what good search looks like inside the agency, across our clients and in the wider market. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, influence commercial outcomes, and build a function designed to last.

We get a lot of AI-written CVs—if you want to stand out, make it your own! Tell us who you are and why you want to join us. We’re a small team looking for someone who is passionate about SEO and AI. Our work is demanding, and we expect the highest standards. We’re looking for drive and passion.

At a glance:

  • Location: UK-based, fully remote
  • Contract: Full-time, permanent
  • Salary: Dependent on experience
  • Reports to: Senior leadership team

About WilsonCooke

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
