About the role

This is a newly created, high-profile leadership role that will give someone the opportunity to build and lead Coventry Building Society Group's Healthcare banking proposition.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the Group's Healthcare sector strategy, growing relationships across the market and helping establish Coventry Building Society as a trusted banking partner within the healthcare industry. They will also play a key role in shaping how sector-specialist banking develops across the wider Corporate & Commercial Banking business.

The role combines strategy, business development, relationship management, and leadership. A large part of the position involves identifying and winning new business opportunities, managing senior client and adviser relationships, and leading lending transactions typically ranging from £3m to £25m. The individual will work closely with internal teams including Risk, Treasury, Product, Legal, Finance, and Operations to ensure opportunities are delivered safely and effectively.

This is not a traditional leadership role; we are looking for someone who can create and deliver a sector growth strategy, build market credibility, influence senior stakeholders, and help shape, lead, and deliver the future direction of Corporate & Commercial Banking.

This role offers the opportunity to initiate, influence, and own strategy, drive business growth, build a specialist team, and become a recognized leader within the healthcare banking market.

Location: Hybrid working arrangements apply. Offices in Coventry & Manchester with national client travel expected

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
