Head of Security Engineering & Operations
Head of Security Operations & Engineering
Lead the transformation of Security Operations, Engineering & Cyber Defence within a global technology organisation.
Join a major international technology organisation undergoing a significant cyber security transformation programme.
They are seeking a Head of Security Operations & Engineering to lead the evolution of cyber defence capabilities across a large-scale cloud environment. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on oversight of Security Operations, Security Engineering, Incident Response, Detection & Response, and Security Automation.
The Role / Opportunity
- Lead and scale Security Operations & Security Engineering teams across multiple locations
- Drive the transformation of detection, response and cyber defence capabilities
- Build a modern, engineering-led approach to SOC operations and security tooling
- Develop automation and AI-assisted security workflows
- Shape DevSecOps and secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices across engineering teams
- Improve cloud, application, and identity security capabilities
- Enhance incident response, threat detection and operational resilience
- Mentor and develop a high-performing security organisation

What You Bring
- Strong background building Security Engineering functions
- Experience modernising or transforming Security Operations environments
- DevSecOps and secure SDLC expertise
- Cloud security experience within large-scale environments
- Experience scaling teams technically and organisationally
- Comfortable balancing technical depth with organisational leadership

Location: Leeds – Flexible Office Attendance
Compensation:
- Base Salary: Up to £145,000
- Bonus: Up to 25% of salary
- Benefits: Comprehensive additional benefits package
