Head of Strategic Projects, Operations and AI Communications

Head of Strategic Projects, Operations and AI, Internal Communications

About GSK & The Role

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is advancing into a pivotal phase of growth with three core objectives: driving performance, accelerating research and development (R&D), and streamlining operations. Internal Communications is integral to ensuring employee engagement—the team empowers staff by instilling confidence in GSK’s future, highlighting the value GSK delivers to patients and shareholders, and fostering clarity around key priorities.

In this role as Head of Strategic Projects, Operations and AI, Internal Communications, you will lead projects and initiatives aligned with GSK’s enterprise priorities, leverage AI transformation to enhance operational efficiency, and manage a small team of communications and AI specialists. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with business and technology leaders to strategise, implement AI solutions, and champion data-driven initiatives across CGA (Communications, Global Alignment).

Key Responsibilities

The role involves oversight of a team of three, reporting directly to the VP, Internal Communication and Global Functions, with the following core accountability areas:

  • Team Leadership

    • Build a collaborative culture, mentor team members, and provide strategic direction.
    • Foster operational excellence and flair across functional projects.
  • AI Transformation Strategy

    • Own the AI transformation plan for the CGA function, defining focus areas and identifying use cases.
    • Drive capability-building, engagement plans, and mindset shifts needed to enable transformation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
