Head of Strategic Projects, Operations and AI, Internal Communications

Internal Communications plays a pivotal role in engaging our people—building confidence in our future, inspiring employees with the value GSK delivers to patients and shareholders, and bringing clarity so we can focus on what matters.

As Head of Strategic Projects, Operations and AI, Internal Communications, you will be accountable for developing and delivering communications plans and content that embeds GSK’s enterprise priorities, supports strategic projects, and executes our Culture and Engagement plans.

Additionally, you will lead AI transformation in CGA (Commercial Global Alliance)—developing a strategic plan with defined focus areas, driving upskilling, behaviour change, and mindset shifts, and leading a team of two communications and AI professionals. You will partner closely with business leaders, including Tech leaders, working at pace, and demonstrating strong leadership, business acumen, AI/data/tech knowledge, and the ability to influence and lead teams effectively.


Key Responsibilities

This role leads the Strategic Projects, Operations and AI, Internal Communications team (three members) and reports to the VP, Internal Communication and Global Functions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Team Leadership & Culture

    • Lead the team by building a collaborative culture, supporting professional development, and providing clarity, focus, and direction.
    • Foster an environment of trust, psychological safety, and shared accountability.
  • AI Transformation for CGA

    • Own the AI transformation plan for CGA, partnering with colleagues to define focus areas, determine use cases, and identify opportunities for high-impact AI applications.
    • Execute a targeted capability-building and engagement plan to enable behavioural change, ensuring smooth adoption of AI solutions.
    • Act as an AI champion within CGA, collaborating with Tech functional leaders to align strategies, tools, and support.

  • Strategic Communications
    • Develop and deliver impactful communications plans to bring GSK’s enterprise priorities to life, using storytelling and compelling proof points to build confidence and demonstrate progress.
    • Lead communications planning and support for strategic enterprise projects as needed.

  • Technical aptitude: Deep knowledge of AI, data, and tech applications in communications, with experience applying AI solutions to business challenges.

Required Experience

  • Proven track record in leading and driving change within a functional team.
  • Significant internal communications experience supporting complex, multinational organizations and senior leaders.
  • Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams across multiple global locations.
  • Proven ability to translate corporate strategy into frontline action and messaging.

Location & Working Model

  • Based at our London HQ with a hybrid working model.
