Job Description
This senior leadership role directs the end-to-end Supply Chain strategy and execution, ensuring seamless operations across a complex manufacturing environment. Key focus areas:
- Warehousing, logistics, and inventory management
- Supply chain demand planning and material flow optimisation
- Raw material and service contracts strategy
- Integration with Shared Services Procurement
You’ll drive operational excellence through strategic foresight, cost-efficient delivery, and transformation initiatives. Operating strategically, you’ll lead cross-functional teams and align supply chain operations with long-term business goals.
Core Responsibilities
- Define and implement Supply Chain operations strategy, enhancing efficiency in warehousing, logistics, inventory, and demand management
- Champion Health & Safety compliance and adherence to regulatory/customer/internal standards
- Oversee material flow—balancing supply demand to uphold programme delivery integrity
- Evolve warehouse/logistics capability, ensuring scalable, compliant, and cost-effective operations, while optimising network capacity
- Strengthen demand management practices, improving forecast accuracy and alignment with integrated business planning (IBP) and production needs
- Foster continuous improvement, leveraging internal/external networks to refine processes and reduce costs
- Manage transport/distribution/third-party logistics (3PL), ensuring performance, compliance, and value
- Develop financial frameworks (KPIs for cost, delivery, quality, service) and drive budget accountability for cost optimisation
- Identify and mitigate Supply Chain risks, safeguarding continuity
- Lead a high-performing team (5 direct reports + broader operational/professional/contractor network) while collaborating with senior stakeholders across operations, procurement, programmes, and executive leadership

Essential Requirements
- Extensive experience leading Supply Chain operations in defence, manufacturing, or engineering
- Proven expertise in warehouse management, logistics scaling, inventory optimisation, and demand planning
- Transport/distribution leadership, with 3PL oversight and partner governance
- Record of delivering operational performance improvements and strategic transformations
- ERP/WMS proficiency (e.g., SAP, Oracle), enabling data-driven decision-making
- Financial/commercial acumen, including budget management and working capital optimisation
- Strong stakeholder influence across operations and leadership tiers

Team Integration
Reporting to the GCS Supply Chain Director, this role bridges procurement, planning, and programme supply chain. You’ll form a multidisciplinary team (5 direct reports + operational/professional/contractor staff) and ensure alignment with Manufacturing, Operations, and Programme teams for seamless delivery.
