The Head of Technical Services leads the delivery of technical support and service excellence across maintenance, ensuring:
- Safe, compliant, and efficient operations
- Driving performance, reliability, and continuous improvement
- Maintaining strong client relationships

What You’ll Do
Technical Leadership & Strategy
- Apply technical leadership in:
- Maintenance strategy
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & investigations
- Recruitment & technical planning
- Ensure the cost-centre P&L is managed in full alignment with the finance team
Client Collaboration & Compliance
- Provide technical consultancy to the Account Director and deputise where required
- Lead the account compliance programme
- Adapt and drive operational efficiencies to enhance effectiveness
Technical Interface & Implementation
- Offer expert advice on new buildings/assets and serve as the key interface for:
- Projects
- Asset Management
- New building/asset handovers
- Conduct gap analysis & risk register management for technical risks
- Support during new build/asset handover phases
- Report risks to the customer as appropriate
Financial & Reporting Responsibilities
- Supply cost-centre updates and financial reports
- Assure P&L management within budget
Leadership & Client Engagement
- Chair/represent EMCOR-led technical and management meetings as required
- Promote EMCOR UK’s brand while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
- Clients

- Ensure consistent, satisfactory performance
- Integrate client feedback mechanisms to track and address concerns
Strategic Value Delivery
- Provide actionable value propositions to improve clients’ engineering/maintenance & asset base through industry best practices
- Meet all contract deliverables in compliance with end-to-end processes
Who You’ll Be
Essential Requirements
- Chartered Engineering status (or equivalent qualification)
- Member of a professional body (e.g., IET)
- Senior engineering operations experience, ideally within regulated, manufacturing, and high-security environments
- Well-versed in quality management systems (high procedural, technical, and HSE compliance expertise)
- Deep knowledge of UK outsourced facilities services, including:
- Hard FM (Facilities Management)
- Complex project delivery (e.g., M&E, building & civils)
- Proven leadership in:
- Directing and developing multi-disciplined engineering teams in regulated, high-pressure environments
- Leading transformational change (new methods/working practices)
- Inspiring teams to embrace innovation and cultural shifts
- Strong relationship-building skills with key customers to foster long-term engagement and profitable partnerships
- Familiarity with Asset Management Strategy & ISO 55000 best practices
- Experience with:
- CMMS/CAFM systems (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems & Computer-Aided Facilities Management)
- Maintenance planning, scheduling & risk mitigation
