Head of Technology
Head of Technology – Finisterre
About the Role
We have a great opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced tech leader to join a growing purpose-led brand.
Our Head of Technology owns the technology strategy and roadmap for Finisterre, translating commercial and operational priorities into a coherent plan for systems, data, infrastructure, and IT. This is an exciting, hands-on leadership role with broad accountability—spanning ERP, integrations, data, cyber security, end-user IT, and business platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Technology Leadership
- Define and own the technology roadmap, setting integration standards and establishing the architectural framework for systems like:
- NetSuite (ERP)
- Shopify
- Middleware
- 3PL (Third-Party Logistics)
- BI (Business Intelligence) tooling
- Other business platforms
- Input into the selection, evaluation, and implementation of future technology, ensuring scalability, integrity, and seamless integration with existing systems
- Lead the build of data infrastructure, including:
- Data warehouse
- Pipelines
- Reporting layer
- Data governance standards, partnering with Finance, Commercial, Product, Marketing, and Operations to ensure trusted and actionable output
- Maintain a company-wide data governance strategy, including compliance and ethical data handling
- Stay ahead of the technology landscape, identifying:
- Emerging AI tools and automation that can improve efficiency, decision-making, and customer experience
- New trends that could enhance Finisterre’s scalability and operational excellence
- Lead Finisterre’s AI strategy, defining how AI can meaningfully impact the business while ensuring:
- Pragmatic, ethical adoption aligned with B Corp values
- Governance guardrails to mitigate risks
- Clear ROI and operational improvement
Systems & Operations
- Own ongoing development and optimisation of NetSuite, managing relationships with partners to drive:
- Performance
- Data quality
- Cost-efficient scalability
- Manage the outsourced IT provider relationship, ensuring:
- Workplace setup and maintenance
- Proper security and device management
- Network connectivity
- Identity and access management
- Smooth employee onboarding and offboarding across all sites
- Lead technology projects end-to-end, from scoping and solution design to implementation and adoption, ensuring:
- Technical viability
- Operational usability
- Commercial alignment
- Effective cross-team collaboration
- Monitor system performance and recommend infrastructure improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency

Security, Compliance & Governance
- Own cyber security and data protection as a single accountability, ensuring:
- GDPR compliance
- Effective DPO (Data Protection Officer) relationships
- Strong cyber posture
- Maintain a technology risk register and embed controls such as:
- Change management processes
- Access reviews
- Incident reporting frameworks
- Balance security and business agility, ensuring measures do not hinder productivity or innovation
Partners & Budget
- Manage all external technology partners, including:
- Day-to-day outsourced IT providers
- ERP, middleware, and platform vendors
- Hold partners accountable to clear SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and delivery standards
- Consolidate vendor relationships where alignment improves efficiency or reduces costs
- Own the Tech/IT budget, providing:
- Transparent forecasting
- Clear cost visibility
- Strategic ROI analysis for CFO and leadership
Team Leadership
- Build and lead a small, high-performing technology team (currently two Technology Assistants):
- Mentor and develop internal capability
- Maintain a lean, agile function as the business scales
- Collaborate closely with business leaders to bridge:
- Commercial priorities with technical solutions
- Operational challenges with strategic innovation
What You’ll Bring to Finisterre
- Significant experience in a technology leadership role within:
- Multi-channel businesses
- Consumer brands
- E-commerce operations
- Genuine breadth across the tech stack, with depth in ERP, integrations, and platforms
- Practical AI fluency, including:
- Ability to evaluate tools without hype
- Understanding of Ethical AI principles
- Ability to guide responsible adoption across the business
- Exceptional communicator with:
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to listen, absorb perspectives, and provide constructive feedback
- **Trust-building **through credibility, not authority
- Hands-on ERP experience, particularly with:
- NetSuite (mandatory)
- Shopify (highly preferable)
- Track record in building and optimising data infrastructure, including:
- Data warehousing
- BI tooling
- Reporting frameworks
- Solid understanding of cyber security, including:
- GDPR compliance
- Data protection policies
- Experience managing outsourced partners, including:
- Writing and negotiating SLAs
- Running tenders
- Ensuring accountability
- Commercial acumen and operational pragmatism, able to:
- *Evaluate technology solutions through a user-first lens
