As artificial intelligence (AI) reshapes both our clients’ businesses and the way compliance work is delivered, we are creating the role of Head of Technology and AI to lead this agenda.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Head of Technology and AI will be responsible for setting and delivering fscom’s technology and AI strategy. The role will focus on leading the technology function, setting the long-term technical vision, and ensuring that technology decisions and platforms support scale, security, and sustainable growth.
The role has three aims:
- Setting, leading, and embedding the firm's technology vision
- Overseeing the build of AI tools and products that meet client needs and create value
- Ensuring AI is responsibly embedded across our own advisory services
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role. You will shape how fscom uses technology and AI internally, transform its client product offering, create products and tools that set the benchmark for compliance adoption and adherence. You work closely with leaders, IT, and our AI committee.
You will provide strategic and operational leadership for enabling fscom’s transition from technology‑enabled consulting to selective, scalable data and product led propositions. This includes accountability for the technical foundations, data architecture, and governance required to support products for fscom’s growing client base enabling the firm’s growth through innovation and automation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology Strategy & Innovation
- Define and deliver a technology and AI strategy aligned to fscom’s strategy, client needs, and growth ambitions
- Identify emerging technologies and market trends that enhance consulting propositions.
- Drive innovation and support the development of new and existing technology‑enabled services.

Data, Benchmarking & Product Enablement
- Own the technology and data architecture of fscom’s proprietary risk assessment and benchmarking propositions, ensuring scalability, security, and regulatory credibility.
- Partner with product owners, practice leads, and external advisors to translate regulatory and market requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Ensure benchmarking outputs are defensible, repeatable, and auditable, suitable for use by client base inclusive of fin techs, banks, regulators, and third‑party stakeholders.
- Oversee the evolution of MVP solutions into enterprise‑grade platforms, including validation of data models, scoring logic, and aggregation methods.
- Support the positioning of fscom data assets as industry standard reference points, while maintaining appropriate governance and controls.
Platform, Architecture & Engineering Excellence
- Build a secure, scalable, and modern technology architecture.
- Lead engineering, product development, and technology operations.
- Establish standards for engineering excellence, DevOps, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Drive automation and process optimisation to improve delivery efficiency and margin.
- Ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value.
Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance
- Lead the responsible adoption of technology and AI across the fscom, balancing opportunity with risk.
- Lead the cybersecurity strategy and governance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards.
- Ensure all AI use, internal and client-facing, is lawful, ethical, and well-controlled.
- Maintain clear records and oversight to demonstrate responsible AI use.
Leadership & Organisational Development
- Establish clear accountability and performance discipline.
- Alongside the Head of People, enable a culture of innovation and learning, to ensure employees are well disciplined and trained on the maximisation of technology for business efficiency.
- Act as the internal authority on AI, advising the board and Exco on emerging risks and market developments.
Collaboration & Integration
- Promote a one company culture where AI, technology, and consulting work seamlessly together.
- Collaborate with practice leads to embed technology‑enabled benchmarking into BAU audit and advisory delivery.
- Support senior stakeholders in articulating fscom’s AI and data capabilities to clients, banks, and regulators.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
We are looking for a leader who combines deep technical understanding with sound judgement on risk and regulation. You will be comfortable building solutions and shaping strategy in equal measure.
Experience and Background
- Proven track record as a CTO, Head of AI, or equivalent senior technology leader
- Strong experience leading technology, AI, data science, or machine learning initiatives, ideally within financial services or a regulated sector
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms, cybersecurity, data management, and modern engineering practices.
- Practical knowledge of AI governance, model risk, and the regulatory issues that affect AI adoption
- A track record of delivering AI tools or products that create measurable value
- The ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
- Sound judgement, integrity, and a measured, evidence-based approach
- Strong stakeholder management experience, including Board level engagement
