We are recruiting for a Head of Technology & Data Platforms to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has senior leadership experience delivering technology outcomes within asset management or financial services.
With a global remit spanning operations, transformation, and IT, our COO team ensures an exceptional client experience. A bit about the role:
The Head of Technology & Data Platforms is a senior leadership role accountable for delivering measurable business outcomes across the investment lifecycle through technology, data, and analytics.
Reporting directly to the CIO and forming part of the Technology Leadership Team, this role ensures technology enhances investment decision-making, client engagement, and commercial growth, while simplifying the technology estate and operating within Aviva Investors’ risk and regulatory framework.

The remit spans Investment Technology (Front Office, Research, Analytics, and Investment Risk), Distribution and Marketing Technology, and the commercial activation of platforms, analytics, and AI capabilities.
With end-to-end accountability for data platforms, data engineering, and analytics enablement, the role drives high-quality insight and confident, explainable decision-making across the front-to-back investment and distribution lifecycle.
Acting as a single point of accountability, the role translates strategy into execution, ensuring enterprise prioritisation, governance, and value realisation.
The new role reflects the growing strategic importance of technology in delivering growth, efficiency, client outcomes, and leadership capability within the CIO function. Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Proven experience leading Front Office Investment Technology functions, supporting portfolio management, trading, research, analytics, and investment risk capabilities.
- A track record of developing and delivering technology, data, and analytics strategies that drive business growth, operational efficiency, and improved client outcomes.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale transformation and operating within complex, regulated, and outsourced technology environments, with accountability for governance, risk, and value delivery.
- Significant senior leadership experience within asset management or a regulated financial services environment, with a strong understanding of the investment lifecycle.
- Executive-level leadership capability, commercial acumen, and strategic thinking, with the credibility and potential to be considered a future successor within a CIO leadership pipeline.
