Senior Technology Leader – Head of Technology

About the Role
The Head of Technology is a core member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). You’ll define and deliver long-term technology strategy while driving wider organisational success through digital transformation, innovation, and operational resilience. This is a hands-on, outcome-focused role that will shape PGI’s technological future, ensuring investments scale value while supporting sustainable growth within a robust risk framework.
The Head of Technology:
- Translines strategic vision into technical execution, balancing ambition with measurable ROI.
- Challenges assumptions to ensure cost-efficient, high-impact technology solutions deliver real business value.
- Acts as the principal technology advisor to the SLT, shaping and scaling capability across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Oversight & Leadership
- Provide strategic technology direction to align with SLT objectives, ensuring scalable solutions for business growth.
- Deliver end-to-end technology strategy, balancing operational efficiency with cutting-edge innovation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritise technology investments, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and decision-making.

Programme & Transformation Leadership
- Design and govern technical transformation programmes, ensuring project scope, dependencies, and governance are clear.
- Lead jointly with Programme Success teams to execute major programmes, including oversight of budget, risk, and outcomes.
- Champion emerging technologies (particularly AI solutions) where they provide tangible ROI for client success and transformation.
Risk, Performance & Stakeholder Alignment
- Develop business cases for investments, ensuring clear ROI, risks, and long-term business impact.
- Anticipate future needs and anticipate dependencies, aiding strategic business planning.
- Provide SLT reporting on technology delivery, including metrics on efficiency gains, cost savings, and resilience improvements.
Team Development & Operational Excellence
- Champion a high-performing culture of innovation, where technology serves client and employee success.
- Introduce standard operating frameworks (e.g. ITIL, PRINCE2) to scale operational resilience.
- Own technology budget and procurements, ensuring optimal use of resources.
Client & Organisational Impact
- Drive technology adoption to improve client outcomes and internal processes across geographies.
- Preserve PGI’s reputation for security, innovation, and measurable results.

Requirements
Essential
- Proven senior leadership experience across technology, cybersecurity, digital transformation, or operational delivery.
- Hands-on capability to lead strategic technology initiatives that translate into tangible business results.
- Experience in programme/portfolio management, delivering change in dynamic environments.
- Strong commercial awareness, with a record of developing compelling investment cases against measurable outcomes.
- Professional influence—flexible in collaboration with SLT, technical teams, and external clients.
- Ability to translate technical complexity into clear business narratives for executive stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have
- Certifications in programme management (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP) or security/ITIL frameworks (e.g. PRINCE2, CISMP).
- Experience in regulated sectors (finance, healthcare, or government) due to client requirements.
