Head of Training Delivery
Defence Intelligence Academy Targeting College RAF Wyton, East of England, PE28 2EA
About the Role
The Defence Intelligence Academy was launched in February 2025 and aims to become a world-leading Intelligence and Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) training, education, and research academy. It provides decision advantage to UK Defence, Partners Across Government (PAG), and international allies through the delivery of cutting-edge training and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
The Head of Training Delivery will lead the holistic delivery of targeting education and training across the Academy. Key responsibilities include:

Leadership of Training Delivery:
- Direct the delivery of targeting training to DI, single Service counterparts, and wider Defence partners.
- Ensure professional, effective, and efficient delivery across Defence and associated organisations.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice and guidance when required.

Team Management:
- Manage up to 3 Higher Executive Officers (HEOs) and 1 Executive Officer (EO) as the team scales.
- Uphold management, welfare, and discipline of trainees while ensuring adherence to Academy policy and personal/professional standards.

Strategic & Operational Responsibilities:
- Ensure continuing professional development within the targeting discipline, integrating Joint Service Publications (JSPs) and Defence Systems Approach to Training (JSP 822).
- Collaborate with UK targeting enterprises for policy alignment and expertise.
- Engage across multiple Defence intelligence sites (including Hermitage, Chicksands).
- Regular workplace travel and training delivery at external sites.

Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in targeting and/or intelligence domains.
- Leadership experience with a track record of effective stakeholder engagement.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Multi-tasking agility to manage evolving priorities and tight deadlines.
- Tenacity and resilience in overcoming organisational resistance.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in training, education, or operational domains.
- Military/operational background or Defence-specific qualifications in training.
Security & Legal
- Successful candidates must pass:
- Developed vetting checks.
- DBS criminal record check.
- Baseline Personnel Security Standards (BPSS) checks.
- Validates UK national eligibility.

Contract:
No relocation expenses are paid. External applicants are subject to 6-month probation. Travel expenses to interviews will not be reimbursed.
