Director of Transformation

About the Role

To strategically lead, define, and execute the business transformation agenda across the entire organisation, focusing on:

  • Doing the right things for customers and colleagues
  • Driving significant, measurable improvements in operational performance, customer experience, and strategic growth

This role is pivotal in translating the company's vision into a cohesive, managed portfolio of programmes and projects, ensuring successful realisation of benefits.


Key Responsibilities

Transformation Strategy & Roadmap

  • Design, own, and continually refine the end-to-end organisational transformation roadmap.
  • Work closely with the Strategy & Transformation Director and executive stakeholders.

Portfolio Management

  • Oversee the central Transformation Management Office function.
  • Ensure robust governance, reporting, risk management, and resource allocation across all major change initiatives.

Delivery Leadership

  • Manage the team of Transformation Office Manager, five Programme Managers, and Change Lead.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to ensure high-quality execution of complex, multi-year programmes.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary interface between the transformation team and Executive Leadership.
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication regarding programme status, risks, and benefits realisation.

Financial & Benefits Tracking

  • Rigorously manage the transformation budget.
  • Establish frameworks for tracking, validating, and reporting financial and non-financial benefits across initiatives.

Change & Cultural Adoption

  • Champion effective change management strategies to embed:
    • New processes
    • Technologies
    • Operating models across the organisation

Cultural Leadership

  • Foster a proactive, continuous improvement culture that embraces change and strategic thinking.

Other Key Focus Areas

  • Customer & Colleague Emphasis: Ensure all transformation initiatives prioritise value for customers and colleagues.
  • Strategic Advice: Contribute to broader organisational strategy as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.
  • Industry Expertise: Maintain knowledge of best practices, methodologies, and technologies in organisational change and programme delivery.
  • Third-Party Management: Manage supplier relationships and external consultants engaged in transformation efforts.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Monitor Health & Safety performance for the area of responsibility.
  • Support Directors in achieving a positive Health and Safety Culture, while encouraging continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety Team to ensure compliance with all statutory obligations.
  • Follow emergency response procedures, liaising with relevant authorities when required.
